With £3,000 on one's hip, it's very easy to find a beautiful road bike. With £1350, it's a little harder. Hence we've somewhat fallen in love with Grupetto's tubular-frame CS Maggiore 2012. Built to each customer's specification, the bespoke high-peformance racer can be set up for gears or a fixed wheel. Almost everything can be tweaked, from the retro crema/castania paint job to the saddle and leather bartape on the handlebars. It's fair to say that 10K a day on this would soon correct any gentleman's 'chicken chin'. At least, that's our excuse...
