Panini's BMW 507 on sale for £500,000 (that's a lot of football stickers...)
BMW lost money on every 507 they sold. That noise you can hear is Duncan Bannatyne gnashing his teeth...
The BMW 507 is famously known as the car that almost bankrupted BMW. The cost of production was so high that BMW actually lost money every time they sold one. Nevertheless, the exquisite alumnium bodywork that flows over the chassis like liquid mercury ensures the 507 is still hugely collectable. John Surtees had one - as did Elvis, until he gave it to Bond girl Ursula Andress during the filming of Fun in Acapulco.
