Aye carumba! If you've just come off the back of a heavy night on the sherry, we wouldn't blame you for squinting at the picture above. It's the new Pentax K-01 mirrorless digital camera, designed in collaboration with Marc Newson. And - as if you haven't noticed - it's a rather arresting lemon yellow. Still, that ridged rubber body will provide excellent grip as you explore the devices' panopoly of features, including an ultra-sharp 3-inch, 920K-dot LCD display (there's no physical viewfinder), six frames-per-second burst mode and time lapse mode. Newson's signature logo is etched onto the alumnium base. If you're still feeling somewhat fragile, it also comes in black...

Philippe Starck headphones

Having designed everything from restaurants (Felix at The Hong Kong Peninsula) to, er, toothbrush holders, French designer Philippe Starck has turned his attention to luxury headphones. Made for the smartphone generation, they have a suitably vainglorious name (ZIK by Parrot) and are notable for two innovative features. Firstly, the exteriors of the ear cups are made from a touch-activated material that allows one to adjust the volume or skip tracks with a swipe of one's finger. And secondly, they have built-in motion detectors so that, when slipped down onto the shoulders, music is automatically paused. Naturally they're wireless, and can be paired with a Bluetooth smartphone so as not to spoil the elegant flow of Monsieur Starck's design. Dr. Dre: it appears you have been bested by a Frenchman with frizzy hair and a scooter.
